EACA is supporting the City of Atlanta Department of Parks & Recreation to drive the below projects by representing community stakeholder input and feedback; leading community fundraising efforts; and building community awareness:

Park Renovation

The next phase of renovations will focus on a new pavilion and the grill area. Construction will begin this Summer and will take approximately 2 months to complete.

Community Garden

The community garden at Brownwood Park aims to cultivate a vibrant and sustainable space where community members can come together to grow fresh produce, foster connections, and promote healthy living.

ORMEWOOD FOREST

oVERVIEW

After years of negotiation with the City of Atlanta, EACA supported the purchase of three acres of the Ormewood Forest to be preserved for public use. As of April 2024, Ormewood Forest represents East Atlanta’s newest greenspace. Over the coming years, EACA will continue to organize clean up days in order to activate this green space. EACA will work with the city to install official signage to mark the entrance.
