The Friends of East Atlanta Library is an incorporated Friends group dedicated to an East Atlanta Library that is comporable to the finest libraries in the system. Currently, the system in in the midst of constructing a new library at the corner of Flat Shoals Road. Following are some details:
Location: Corner of Flat Shoals and McPherson Avenues on the site of the old Dairy Queen and the small house-church.
Size: 8000 square feet. Twice as large as the current library but half the size of Ponce. We have asked that it be designed to allow for expansion.
Completion Date: Spring 2005
Collection and features: All new collection. On site parking. Larger community room. More and better computers.
